Installing Mods in Linux (Steam Proton)

So you Finally decided to Install Linux On your Computer but you didn't want to leave your trusty Sims 3 Behind. Right, So Now you got it working you bypassed the Launcher and all that. and im pretty sure you are aware you can't install Sims3pack files Since the Launcher Doesn't work.

You've probably wondered then,Where and how Can i install .package files? after all these mods don't require the launcher and would be easily placed in a mods folder. So today im going to quickly show you where that mods folder should be located and also your other sims 3 files (saved worlds saved games etc etc)

So The Location is rather easy.
/home/YOURUSERNAME/.steam/steam/steamapps/compatdata/47890/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/My Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 3

of Cource change the "YOURUSERNAME" To the actual user name of your Home folder.

There are two ways to do this.

you can do this the slow way:
you'll be required to be able to view hidden files as steam's folder in the Home folder is hidden for some reason. if you don't know how to view hidden files look up on google or whatever your search engine is how to view hidden files on the distro your using. once you can see hidden files. Navigate to the folder by following the path above.

Or the faster and easy way:
Put the Path at The top And Press Enter and it should Navigate you there.
(sorry for bad quality and small image size but you get the idea where to write the path)

So by now i think you've got to where all these files are Located.

So since Now you know where all your custom files like custom music custom sims custom saves customworld custom custom yeah. all of that are located.

Now its time to insert the Custom Mods folder where you'll be downloading .package files from the internet and putting it there.

You can easily Download a Mods folder from here: http://chii.modthesims.info/FrameworkSetup.zip

Note:creating a mods folder by your own (aka making a folder and naming it a mods folder) will Not work.

Simply download it. and Copy the 'Mods' folder to The Previously Mentioned Path.
