My Hero Guides
Introduction
Before you complain that there isn't anything about traits and focus talents it's because those mostly a matter of preference. Do you disagree about something? Let me know I will appreciate it :).
BEAR IN MIND ALL OF THESE WILL BE REFERING TO THE NAMES NOT WHAT THEY DO SO DO LOOK AT WHAT THEY DO. So let's get into it.
Charnok
So this is the first hero I will be doing a guide on. So this was the very first hero I ever played and I wanted to make a guide on all of the ones I play so this should be first.
FIREBALL
Big Balls of Fire
Considering that Charnok has a relatively short charge up time this extra damage is amazing for what it's worth and as Charanok should stay on the backline this is a good upgrade.
-Bigger Balls of Fire
This is especially good when the enemies group up and if you don't have the best of accuracy (like me) and for anyone who is looking for a bit more damage
-Bombastic
This is an amazing talent provided you have a great aim and only shoot when you can get a hit. Use this very carefully so you don't mess up your streak
Burn Notice
This is a good talent when the enemy has a squishier comp and if you were struggling with their assassains this should make them back off so both are viable
-Stroke the Fire
This is a very cheeky talent which will require fairly good accuracy but can get in a few small cheeky kills.
-Extended Notice
This is really just a bit of extra damage. It may help get a grim reaper badge but that's it. I'd recommend the other one much more.
DRAGON'S BREATH
Turning up the Heat
This is a great talent if people are coming up to you and as Dragon's Breath already deals lots of damage this really enhances that. I would greatly suggest this.
-Back burner
This talent is a rather strategic one that only really can be done with the Dive Bomb talent on Detonate and even then I don't think it's that useful
-Scorching Flames
I would say that this is a lot more useful and although it isn't the best talent in the world a would say it has a lot more value than Back Burner
Fire Shelter
This talent, honestly, doesn't look that useful or seems to be. In a good comp with a tankier hero this has absolutely no value and really doesn't bring anything to the table and reduces how good Dragon's Breath is. If you have only just started and struggle to survive maybe you should try this, otherwise I would not recommend this.
-Backdraft
This is a more defensive talent so if you seem to have a lot of assassains sneaking up on you and can get other annoying heroes out of the way.
-Incinerate
This is a very useful talent if the enemy has some longer ranged heroes like Mozu or Imani just so you can get back behind your tank/bruisers or some terrain.
DETONATE
Dive Bomb
Now in the game it says you shouldn't get this but I would disagree. Charnok has no movement apart from flinging himself in the air and I think that this talent is very useful and has got me out of too many sticky situations. It can also be very useful against divy and long ranged heroes.
-Time of Impact
This can be very usefu if you use as an engage which I woulf dsy it's more of an escape but if you perform this very well it could be both
-Superheat
This is the one I often go for I find the single most useful due to it's extra burning damage. I would say though that only get it if you go for Burning Breath
Blast Off
This is a certainaly interesting skill as it makes Detonate a offence skill but still can be a defensive if you want it to be
-Parting Gift
This is useful if you use it within a group of enemies and if people are surrounding you. If this has previously happened to you in the game make sure to get this talent
-Make it rain fire
This is otherwise a much better talent especially with Big balls of Fire. This isn't so good without it as you already have a quick charge rate.
HOT HAIL
Hot Coal
This is very good at securing kills and can help you escape if you didn't get Dive Bomb. It makes every one a little bit more scared of you and you can use it by using Detonate and place it behind someone and finish them of.
-Burnination
This is a really good talent to use in big group fights when everyone is a little more spread out and sperate and can get everyone a small chunk of love.
-Hotter and Hotter
This talent can destroy anyone's hopes and dreams and can secure you so many kills, you just have to play it just right. I personally find this much better but I suppose you already have some slowing and you might not need any more.
Hunka Burning Love
This hardly some love I would like! I find this skill a bit weak as people really can evacuate before even seeing this skill. Hot Hail is already scary enough I'm just not sure this is nessersary for winning a teamfight or the game.
-Meteoric Fall
This is probaly the only way this chain will be any use. It seems that this will allow for a lot more damage but even so I would say a hot coals tier 2 would be a lot better than this. If you have to though this is a rather good talent but not good enough.
-Crater
You just won't get it off for the same reason as Hunka Burning Love. This is not viable.
Focus yes or no, tatics and counters
This is the section where we talk about all of the above.
Personally I use his focus to either get people to back off or to get in a few sneaky kills. This is also very good with immoblisiation focuses especially Voden's as they have a very similar targeting area.
Try to stay in mid range where you can safely use Fireball and are close enough to use Dragon's Breath. Use Dragon's Breath on cooldown as it melts people including their frontline. Save Detonate to get out of sticky situations and use Hot Hail when they group up, are trying to escape or you're bored. Make sure you use your focus tatically or to upgrade your creatures.
Counters: Aisling
Aisling's to close to the front and isn't always that tanky. To be safe as one make sure you go for a more tanky build or stay clear all together
Countered by: Imani
Imani's incredible range means it's hard to hit her while she destroys your health
Synergies: Voden
2 a focus, 6 a kill
Before you go YOU FOGORT LV5S AND FOCUS TALENTS. Well A I'ma slacker and B they're more personal preference so it's really undecided which is the best but if you want to know what I take then ask NICELY. These talents normally depend on how you play the hero.
Pakko (WIP)
So it's kinda tipsy order. When I first saw the game (when Zandora just came out/just before Oru can't remember) the first hero I wanted to play was Vo..Pakko. He's just so cute and I spent my first batch of coins on him. I have finally worked him out so I will help you too!
FROSTY SWIPES
Defensive Swings
As someone who goes for a sustaining Pakko I always have picked this up. This can help so much when 1v1ing someone as it just makes you more defensive and I have never once regretted it.
-Cold Remedy
I always get this as it makes 1v1ing so easy it hurts and gives you enough self-sustain that no matter the situation you can escape with your life. However, looking at it I'm sure maybe a more offensive talent could be better if you can sustain yourself without it.
SNOWBALL
Stick it to 'em
Up until recently if you would have asked me what talent I get here I'd say 'Size matters', but I thought of ttrying this and it was a good choice. I wold say in every scenario this is better. This is amazing when Pakko chases (Pakko fetch!) because it sticks (Magic!) and you don't have to send it miles ahead. I better stop now.
-Shattered
This is a very good talent and I would highly recommend it but I find that Pakko's focus charges up quick enough that it's there when you need it (most of the time) and when it isn't this talent can be good but I find that frostball probaly secures more kills than this.
-Frostball
This very good for rather similar reasons to Stick it to 'em in the sense it actually makes chasing extremely easy and secures more kills than I find Shattered does.
Size Matters
I can see an extremely skilled player knowing the gravity of the snowball to make this work in teamfights, but personally I have to say I find that chasing is so difficult with this talent.
SLIP 'N' SLIDE
Saftey First
I find this ability very useful when you're against heroes on the pokier side of the roster like Oru and can get back that extra bit of health which will last you until you get to the bloomer/healer
-Stay Healthy
I don't like being sick and this gives more sustain to Pakko
-Uninhibited
So this ability just really makes Pakko indestructible when trying to escape and if you need to escape a lot this might just be for you. But do beware of armour ignoring abilities/talents before you decide which to take.
FROST PATH
Exteneded Path
This is a really strong talent that you should pick up as it just makes murdering easier. Although I would say that this a tiny bit weak.
Frostbite
I don't think this is to powerful but can make them slow enough to allow you to make your escape. The main reason I actually choose this one is because of Redistrubution of Health which is it's upgrade.
Voden
So when I first entered the game the free heroes where Charanok,Voden,HK-206, Lord Knossos and Tyto the Swift and my second choice was Voden (after Charanok if you were wondering) and I have had ups and downs with him so I decided to make a build guide which I think are the best.
So starting with his basic attack I think that both 'Spread the Pain' and 'Dead Eye' are valid options. Personally I choose Spread the Pain because I don't have that good of an accuracy but if you do I would definately go Dead Eye
Looking at the second tier for Dead Eye I would highly recommend 'Splintering Arrows' especially if they have a Mozu. Personally I think Voden's pull back speed is already high and 'Bow Flex' isn't that useful.
Looking at the second tier for 'Spread the Pain' I go 'Pierecing Arrows' as I find it a lot more useful but if you get your enemies close the other can be much better (this chart doesn't display the right one).
On to the pain that is Poison Spores. On the first tier I would suggest especially for lower level players 'More Spores' as it can make Poison Spores more of an escape and a lot of people do not want to chase through one. However, if you're more confident 'Seeking Spores' can be the better option and a lot more offensive and can get those extra kills that kin the game.
For the 'More Spores' upgrade path. If you still don't feel confident enough about escape 'Virulent' will scare of most heroes apart from sometimes tankier heroe like Pakko or The Margrave. You could go also go for 'Contation' which will work especially well against with heroes who need to group up with their team like Tripp or Tyto the Swift.
For the 'Seeking Spores' I would highly advise 'Spore Colony' as it means you effectively gain the ability to throw a poison cloud and retain the Poison Spores to a better extent. However, 'Hungry Spores' can easily finish of heroes with a high amount of mobility and can help if you aren't that accurate.
So you know this super annoying ability that you hate yeah? You guessed Green Man.
Personally I much prefer 'Companion's Boon' as it really grants a little more damage and a distraction for getting away. However, 'Alternate Root' can allow you to escape from dangerous situations and can confuse people.
Looking at the second talent tier 'Spore Imition' is a vastly more offensive trait which can turn the tide of the battle but 'Spring of Life' can be a lot more useful, especially with Spring Back, in sustaining your team if you don't have an Uncle Sven or a Vadasi making it possible more useful.
Looking on the other side of the talent tree. Alternate root (2) can help make it very confusing on the other players and could be better in lower levels 'Leaf No Trace' could also give you that extra time to escape and if you go this try and move unpredictably so you can avoid enemy fire.
Hidden Spring. Oh this ability the one which makes this a healing dps. Personally I go 'Well Wishes' as I find it so much more useful than 'Geyser' because I just think it isn't that useful of an ability and I don't see Elastic Ooze being good so why would this be.
For 'Well Wishes' Tier 2 talents I think they're both strong however 'Geyser' looks stronger as it allows you to spread out more and prevents so much of the worry of zone ultimates like Charanok's or Beckett's or lining up to get immbolised by Pakko's or Voden's considering you the main healing.
For 'Geyser' T2 definately 'Bounty' because 'Muddy Waters' is making it a bit of an offensive ability and A Voden shouldn't be close enough to have this be of use and B It's a supporting abiity not an offensive one.
Personally I don't use his ultimate ability but really you should I have comparing this game to Overwatch but only if they are grouped up and you know you have follow up like a Charonk's ult then you should use it like Zarya's Graviton Surge.
Voden should always stay on the back lines and if the enemy team is making an approach make sure you back up. Voden should only move otherwise if you're being attacked by a long ranged attacker like Imani, Voden or Mozu. Make sure you're charging up your arrows fully as much as possible because some talents greatly improve their power and burstier damage is better and with poison can get easy kills. If you go Companion's Boon if someone gets close use green man and it will deal extra damage and confuse them. If you have taken a bit of damage use a Hidden Spring because it will greatly help deal with it.
Strong Against: Griselma, Aisling
-Griselma's Portal Beasts can't attack you from afar but you can attack them
-Aisling doesn't have enough movement to get to you if you are aware of her.
Weak against Tyto, Tripp
-With the most movement in the game, Tyto can get in, kill you and get out with ease
-There isn't much you can do once you notice Tripp has snuck up on you and similarly to Tyto can get out with ease.
