Zig-rig

Different weather conditions lead to changes in water temperature. At low temperatures, carp can rise into the sun-warmed top-water and surface layers of the water body. In such cases, Zig-rig equipment can produce the best results. The Zig-rig uses a special floating foam as bait, which, due to its buoyancy, is easily presented at the depth specified by the leader. To search for carp in the water column, it is most effective to use several rods with different leader lengths, for example, in increments of 30 or 50 cm. This increases the likelihood of the bait being presented in the correct depth, where the carp is most active.

But even in normal weather conditions, the Zig-rig can become an alternative to classic bottom rigs, especially when fishing in places with a problematic bottom, such as silt or bottom vegetation. In addition, carp may be very interested in colored foam bait, which contrasts noticeably against the general background.

When making leaders for Zig-rig equipment, it is recommended to use nylon fishing line. Nylon has positive buoyancy, which is extremely important for this setup.
