This is the all encompassing guide for Left 4 Dead 2 achievements. I have separated them into 7 different categories.

I'll be including VIDEO GUIDES for the peskier achievements.

I will recommend that you download Improved Bots (Advanced). This mod will allow you to play Versus and Scavenge in Single Player mode, making those achievements easier to get.

If you're looking for a specific achievement, press CTRL+F and type in the name of the achievement.

I included ways to 'cheese' certain achievements.

There's also workarounds and fail safes for "BEAT THE RUSH", "GHOST OF CHRISTMAS PAST", and "VALVE GIFT GRAB 2011 – L4D2" in the MISSABLE ACHIEVEMENTS category.

Survive the Dead Center campaign. Survive The Passing campaign Survive the Dark Carnival campaign Survive the Hard Rain campaign Survive The Parish campaign Survive the Swamp Fever campaign Survive the Cold Stream campaign Survive The Sacrifice campaign Survive The Last Standing campaign Survive Last Stand with expert and realism mode on Survive Last Stand; under 13 minutes, no deaths. I recommend doing this one with "Gib Fest" mutation enabled. You'll have unlimited ammo and you won't need to reload. Play it on Easy mode, don't stop moving. At the end event you'll need 6 gas cans, find a path that works for you and cary multiple at the time by juggling them while walking forward. Last Stand, discover hidden room, video link On the final chapter of Dark Carnival, survive without leaving the main stage.
I recommend playing on easy. You need to stay in the back of the stage, behind the speakers. Try to snipe Smokers and Chargers, don't waste ammo. Take care of tanks with molotovs, they can knock you away. The bots can mess it up, so you can kick them if you prefer (open up console on a Local Server, type in "kick Coach" for example. Dead Center; Liberty Mall's Atrium, escape before the first Tank appears. Here's a video guide. Survive all Left 4 Dead 2 campaigns on expert. (Dead Center, Swamp Fever, The Parish, Dark Carnival, Hard Rain) Survive a campaign with expert and realism mode on Play 6 mutations. Make sure you're playing on a LOCAL SERVER. This achievement tends to glitch out, so play the official Valve mutations only.

Download Improved Bots (Advanced) so you can play Versus in single player mod.

After you've installed the mod properly, go to Single Player > Versus > and create a Local Server

Survive 10 minutes on any official VERSUS SURVIVAL map. Can't do this one solo, so you'll have to find a game online or invite a friend. Here's how to cheese it:

• enable game console in the menu
  
• start a local server, invite a friend and have them join the 'infected side'
  
• press `, it should pause the game, then type in:

• spam V from time to time to get rid of the special infected

Kill the Common Infected and lead them around with biles and pipe bombs. Do this for 10 minutes and you should get the achievement.

Using Boomer, vomit on survivor without line of sight. Climb on a roof of a building, and while the survivors are under you, spit without looking at them. Using Spitter, spit on survivor pinned by the hunter Using Spitter, spit on a survivor who is pinned by the charger Using Spitter, hit all 4 survivors with a single acid spit Using Spitter, spit on a survivor being choked by a Smoker Using Hunter, do a 25 damage pounce, here's a link showing the easiest way to do it. They're playing on Dead Center, Scavenge. Play a round of Versus on Dead Air map until the end Win a 4v4 TEAM VERSUS match. Firstly, download Improved Bots (Advanced). This will allow you to to play Scavenge and Versus in Single Player Mode. Start up a Single Player game on Scavenge mode, then open your console and type:

• map c1m4_atrium teamscavenge

Win the match and it should pop right up! Leave safe room to defibrillate a dead teammate. I recommend playing on Hard Rain, Chapter 1, Local Server. There's a defibrillator on the 2nd street inside of an ambulance truck. After you approach the Safe Room, you should kick 2 bots (kick (botname)) so only you and 1 other bot remain. Down your teammate, then enter the Safe Room and quickly get out (it's important you get in and out BEFORE your teammate dies) and revive him using the defibrillator. The Sacrifice, incapacitate someone trying to sacrifice themselves. At the end of the level, a survivor is going to need to fix the broken generator. Incapacitate them and it should pop up. Using Charger, instantly kill survivor with one charge. Easiest way is on Last Stand, Lighthouse chapter. Next to the safe room theres a cliff, charge them into the lake and it should pop up. Using Charger, grab a survivor and carry them for 80 feet. Easily done at Dead Center, Chapter 1, on the very first large hallway. Using Charger, push survivor through 8 chairs.
Go to Scavenge > The Passing > Riverbank chapter. Have your friend walk over to the chairs, then charge into him while they're standing next to the chairs, and you should get it. Video guide, here. Using Charger, charge through an entire team with a single charge Using Charger, smash a survivor for 15 secs. Kill 25 zombies with M60 before ceasing fire. Here's an easy way to do it: go to Mutations, pick "Gib Fest" mutation (this will give you a M60 with unlimited ammo, and no reload needed), create a Local Server, turn down your audio (trust me) and just kill 25 zombies without letting go of left click, and the achievement will pop up. Kill pouncing Hunter with shotgun. Find a Hunter, and shoot him while he's in mid air. With a sharp melee weapon, cut a Smoker's tongue before he ensnares you. Here's an easy way to do it: go to Mutations, pick "4 Swordmen" mutation, then create a Local Server and set it to Easy difficulty (the map doesn't matter, pick whichever works best for you). Wait for a Smoker to spawn, then cut BEFORE his tongue connects with you. It'll take a couple of tries.

Kill Witch with s sharp melee weapon, without anyone getting downed. Here's an easy way to do it: go to Mutations, pick "4 Swordmen" mutation, then create a Local Server and pick Hard Rain (Sugar Mill chapter) and set it to Easy difficulty. After finding a Witch, hit her twice and let the bots finish her off. Kill 20 Jockey’s with shovel or pitchfork Kill 15 zombies with a single grenade from a grenade launcher Using the golf club, decapitate 18 heads Ignite 50 common zombies with incendiary ammo Decapitate 200 zombies using melee weapons (I'd a recommend katana or fire axe) Use every melee weapon to kill zombies:

The maps are below. Survive for 30 minutes on any survival official map. Here's how to do it without resorting to cheesing : I recommend you do this on The Parish, Bridge. Collect all the gas cans and set them aside, juggling hp here is hard, but doable, by spam jumping near the bus. Use M16, and every time you run out of ammo, pick up a new one. This will effectively allow you to shoot without ever needing to reload. Focus on the tanks and spitters, and don't forget to communicate with your teammates.

Here's how to toggle crouch (you're gonna be doing this a lot) : Open up your console, and type bind <key> toggle_duck. Exampke: bind c toggle_duck.

Find a golden crowbar in L4D1 survival maps. The maps are below.

Stop the enemy team from collecting any gas cans during a Scavenge round. Cause a survivor to drop a gas can during overtime. While in a game of Scavenge you will need to run into overtime. This is done by holding onto a gas can once the timer has run out. Once the overtime has started have whoever needs the achievement attack the survivor holding the gas can. Collect 15 gas cans. Collect 100 cans. Cause 25 gas drops. While a survivor is holding a gas can, jump on him as a Hunter/Jockey, charge into him as Charger, etc. Using Spitter, destroy 20 gas cans. You can only destroy cans that have been picked up and dropped by survivors and they have to be objective gas cans (they have a yellow outline) This also works in Versus. The Passing, Chapter 1, kill the Witch Bride with shotgun on expert. Video guide here. The Passing, open 5 foot lockers The Passing, The Port, let the original survivors kill the Tank. This one is a little confusing, but it's actually quite simple. Firstly, start the match on a Local Server. When you reach this part, open up your console, and kick bots so they don't deal damage to the Tank (for example "kick Coach" without the "") When the Tank appears, just kite him around (adrenaline helps) and let the original survivors shoot him from above. The Passing, The Undeground chapter, find the jukebox and turn it on. Dark Carnival, rescue the Gnome. On the shooting minigame, score 750 points, it should give you the Gnome. Carry it to the helicopter, and it should pop up. Video
guide here. Dark Carnival, strong man minigame (The Barns chapter) use adrenaline shot and a melee weapon, then hit the red box with your primary attack. Video guide
here. Dark Carnival, complete the whack-a-mole minigame (The Barns chapter) by scoring 42 points. Video guide here. Dark Carnival, honk 10 clown noses. Bash them in the head (nose). Dark Carnival, burn 10 zombies being lead by a Clown with a molotov Hard Rain, chapter Sugar Mill, do not kill witches. – The Parish, The Bridge, cross the bridge under 3 minutes. Video guide here. The Parish, Cemetary, do not trigger car alarms. Swamp Fever, kill 10 Swampy Mudman while they’re in the water Swamp Fever, Chapter 2, Swamp. Don’t take damage at air crash event. Video guide here. The Sacrifice, have all 3 generators running at the same time The Sacrifice, kill a Special Infected with an explosive barrel. The Sacrifice, using Bill, sacrifice yourself. During the end event, you'll have to
fix a broken generator, just make sure you're using Bill and it should pop up. Kill one of each Uncommon Infected.

• Mudman, found mostly in Swamp Fever and Cold Stream campaign. They are the crawling zombies.
  
• Clowns, found in Dark Carnival campaign. They look like clowns...
  
• CEDA, found almost in any campaign. They wear large green/yellow suit.
  
• Police, found mostly in The Parish campaign. They wear helmets and kevlars to protect themselves
  
• Worker, found almost in any campaign. They look like workers and wear yellow helmets
  
• Survivors, found mostly in The Passing campaign. They always carry a health kit or throwables if you kill them. (credit to deXxterlab97)

Finish a campaign only using melee weapons Kill a Tank using only melee weapons Revive fallen teammate while a Tank is around Destroy a Tanks rock while it’s in mid air Kill Charger with a melee weapon while its charging Kill Jockey under 2 secs after he jumps on a survivor Kill Spitter before she spits Rescue 3 survivors from a single closet. Start on Expert, kill the bots, then switch to easy. Progress through the level and you should encounter them all in one closet soon enough. Open the door, and the achievement should pop up. Collect 10 items from fallen survivors (the one’s carrying health packs and such). These zombies only spawn in L4D1 campaigns and The Passing. Collect 10 vials of boomer vomit from CEDA agents (yellow suit zombies). You'll find them most commonly at Dead Center. Revive 10 incapacitated Survivors while on adrenaline. If you're looking for a quick way to farm this, play Scavenge with a friend on Dead Center since there's a bunch of adrenaline around. Kick two bots and use the 'bind kick' command from earlier to take care of Specials. Now you should be able to let your friend incapacitate the other bot, pop an adrenaline, get him up, repeat. Revive 10 dead Survivors with the defibrillator. You should get this automatically, good job Gabe

– MISSABLE SURVIVAL ACHIEVEMENT. Gain a medal on a map, using melee weapons only. Make sure to do this one first because if you already have a medal on a map, this won't work.

WARNING. Apparently, this achievement is bugged for some people.

If you still want to try it out, you should try doing it on Dead Center, Chapter : Mall Atrium. You CAN do it with bots or friends, they are allowed to use guns. Here's a video showing the easiest way to do it.

IF ITS BUGGED, THERE'S A WORKAROUND (by 腐烂的 M u S h)

Firstly, you need to download these workshop items: Left 4 Fun and Left 4 Fun Sample Mods
Afterwards you have to create a survival lobby, start a Local Server and choose a map you have not yet got a medal on. When the game loads type in these command in chat in this order before moving:

• !l4f_admin_init
  
• !settings mod l4f_meleeonly_nospecial
  
• !incap all

Then the game will restart. Pick up your melee weapon and play until you reach bronze, and it should pop up. You need to collect 3 presents from Special Infected on Christmas, however, you don't have to wait until Christmas, there's a workaround.

Change your PC date to Decembar 15, 2001. Start a Versus match, and open your console, then type in : "map c1m1_hotel versus" (without " "). Kill a bunch of special infected, collect the presents and the achievement should pop up. (If the game ends, just restart it)

Help a ‘free weekend’ player survive a campaign. This is a pain in the ass. You need to WAIT for a free weekend, make a new steam profile, have your friend download L4D2 from the new account, and play a match with them. Good luck! Help a free holiday player survive a campaign. You need to find someone who has “Left 4 Dead 2 – Christmas 2013” DLC. Ask around, lots of people have it.

ALTERNATIVE WAY IN CASE IT BUGS OUT:

If you're not getting it after beating a full campaign with someone who has “Left 4 Dead 2 – Christmas 2013” DLC, and you made sure that the tickbox is checked, here's an alternative way that worked for me:
Make a new Steam account, have your friend add you, then family share Left 4 Dead 2 to your new account. Make sure the DLC tickbox is checked, and finish a full campaign (I recommend The Last Stand, because it's pretty short). After the end credits roll, it should pop up.

Kill 53,599 infected. Not really a missable achievement but I ran out of space in the previous category. You should be doing this one last, after you've finished the survival achievements. This is the worst achievement in the game. I don't really condone cheating/cheesing achievements in (all though I provided a guide on how to do it in case you want to) but I actually recommend that you cheat this one in, it's a waste of time and to add insult to injury, it was added in The Last Stand update, which means none of you progress before the update counts .

Here's how to cheese it (it'll still take awhile):

Download these mods: Raymans Mutation ; Admin System ; Admin Menu 2.0

• Once you're in the main menu: Custom Mutations > Survival > Hordes > Play With Friends > Create a Local Server > Dead Center, Gun Shop.

• Once you load in, open up your console and bind the admin menu to I :
  - bind i "show_menu menu"

• Then, kick all of the bots
  - kick Coach ; etc.

• Once it's bound, open up the menu pressing I, then:
  press 6, 1, 3 for unlimited ammo and godmode
  press 3, 1, 1, 1, 5 for M60

• Then, walk up to the room (pictured below), and place a safe room door. To do this open up the admin menu and press: 9, 1, 6 then aim at the bottom of the doorway, and press 1 to spawn the safe room door.
  
• Open the store, to cause the zombies to start coming, then run over to your 'saferoom' and close the door.

• Once inside, to shoot constantly without using the mouse, open up the console and type: +attack. You should be aiming at the bottom part of the safedoor. The bullets should go through the door:

• Now, for the final step. Open the admin menu and press 7, and then "Speed Motion" to speed up time. This will cause the zombies to spawn and move quicker.

• Make sure to Vote Restart the round when you approach your record time on the map, if you don't want to mess it up. I also recommend switching to official servers once you get 50 zombies left, just in case something bugs out.

Good luck, now you can use steam browser and watch youtube videos, while getting this achievement. Good for you buddy, sticking it to the man.
