Guide to 'Old-fashioned Learning' & 'Holy Warrior' with bots
Some of my best friends are robots
I'm only writing this short guide because the pseudo-official one declares that Holy Warrior can't be done with bots.
Old-fashioned Learning
This WP achievement requires you to hit 60 targets simultaneously with the Heavy 2 attack of the Tome.
- Equip a Ranger Veteran, Huntsman and Handmaiden bot with crafting gear. Assign them respectively a 1H Axe, 2H Hammer and Elven Axe. Mind that their skills do not include any THP generation or damage reduction.
- Play "Into the Nest" on Champion. This map has two ideal locations where you can perform the achievement, and the plan is the same for either: wait for the bots to die, then let the enemies gather in a hyperdensity, bubble yourself and smash them. To pick Champion difficulty is not a strict requirement, but you need to strike a deal between having a game not too hard for you to solo a short portion of the map, and not so easy that bots may never die.
Holy Warrior
This WP achievement requires you to bubble someone, who in turn has to kill 50 enemies while the shield is still up. The intended way to do so with players, is to bubble a melee DPS and let him wreak havoc: whilst using bots you will need a specific setup.
- For your Warrior Priest, get a charm with Decanter in order to extend the effect of concentration potions, and select "Unyielding Blessing" in the last tier of the skill tree.
- Equip a Shade bot with dual swords and either javelin or moonfire bow. Anti-skaven, anti-infantry bonuses won't hurt. My shade had Cloak of Mist, but I don't think she actually used it.
- Equip an Huntsman and a Ranger Veteran bots with crafting gear with no bonuses. The least effective weapon you pick for them, the better. Also, make sure they can't generate THP via talents.
- Play "Into the Nest" on Veteran and do whatever you can to get Kruber and Bardin dead by the time you get to the final boss. Never assist them, let them tank monsters, steal their heal items etc. When they're down, play seriously and get the Shade bot alone safely to the exit, preferably holding 2 concentration potions.
