Intro

Hi! I'm Victor Saltzpyre, ♥♥♥♥♥ Hunter and I like to slap the rats for Sigmar. I play a significant amount of chaos wastes on Cataclysm with Twitch mode enabled, and awhile back I had a few people on the Reddit ask me about making a chaos wastes boon tier list video. I'm horrible at video editing and wasn't happy with the results, so I decided to make this guide instead.

I've generally sourced boon effects and description from the Vermintide 2 Wiki, along with a few notes of my own. I plan on adding in separate sections for the neck/charm/trinket traits, as well as weapon traits.

This guide is geared towards Cata or Cata+ difficulty, but still applies to lower difficulties. It's also very much a first draft as of 23-JAN-2026, so I'll probably make some adjustments, some of the images and image formatting is off. I also think I'm missing a single boon from this list here, so please leave a comment if you notice which one! I've gone over the thing 4 times and I can't see it

Edit: it was Dazh’s Peculiar Mirth. I found you, you sneaky bastard

Note on Damage Reduction

You may have noticed that a lot of damage reduction talents are rated highly- this is because of how DR works in Vermintide. Most of it is multiplicative, excluding sources that stack additively with themselves like Sienna's soot shield. At which point the total is then multiplicative with everything else.

If your DR is over 50%, each time your DR is reduced by half your effective HP doubles. Let's say you have 2 boons, Estreuth's Abstinence and Ptra's Protection, and they are both active, and you get hit by a stormvermin overhead (150 damage on cata). A 150 hp career with no health bonus would go down, with one of those boons active they would take 75 damage and go down to 2 overheads. With the second, they take 37.5 per hit and go down in 4 hits.

Some numbers and a caveat
This can get pretty absurd- let's take a zealot, with all the available DR boons and his two class DR talents, and multiply by the inverse of each specific damage reduction to get the damage he would actually take:

1 x .5(Abstinence) x .5(Ptras's Protection) x.6(Barkskin) x .4(Ptra's Endurance) x .75(Khaine's Thirst) x .7(Armor of Faith) x .9(Calloused Within and Without) = 0.02835.

So he only takes 2.835% of incoming damage, he has an effective damage reduction of 97%. To calculate his effective hp, we divide the total health by the damage he would take- 150/0.02835, or 5,291 effective hp. If zealot has the 50% health boon and the health increase from beating a map, he would have 255/0.02825, or 8,994 effective hp.

Let's take this a step further and say that he ALSO has blood orbs and his bonus healing talent, which means he heals 9 hp for every 10 lost. This is effectively a 90% DR, bringing his effective hp up to around 90,000 (89,940). Meaning you'd need about 600 overheads to kill him. Obviously this is unlikely to occur in a real match but it's possible! I had these numbers checked as it sounds absurd, but unless there is a hidden DR cap, they seem accurate.

So the actual numbers are a bit up in the air as i would need to do some more testing in modded realm, but either way you can tank an absurd amount of hits via stacking damage reduction. Just do it

Note on Tier Rankings

So, it's Vermintide, and realistically you can make any boon work for you to a certain degree. I've noticed my list is a bit top-heavy, and debated reordering it- but in my opinion Chaos Wastes has far more strong boons than weak ones, so I'd say this tracks. What I have listed in each section is not in any particular order at the moment, but that may change.

S- Blessed By Sigmar: Powerful boons that will significantly affect your run in some way. Generally if you can grab this, do so
A- Strong Choice: Strong boons that provide a good bonus without a downside, or a great bonus with a downside
B- Decent Boons: choices with a downside, or average choices
C- Average choice that may have a downside. You probably have better options
D- Situational: Weak boons, or boons that are strong but only situationally. Generally avoid this unless there is some synergy between another boon you have or some class ability, such as Khaine's Might and Warrior Priest curse resist
F- Don't bother: These boons are generally not worth buying, barring some exception or special case- pushing enemies makes you charge forward is very useful in cata twitch, for instance

Miracle of Shallya sucks. Don't get it.

Miracle of Shallya is a miracle from the harmony shrine that converts temp HP to green HP. You may think this is a good thing if you don't have a zealot on the team, but it's still awful as it breaks 3 very powerful boons.

Khaine's Thirst is a great source of damage reduction and makes you extremely tanky when combined with other DR sources. It's useless with Miracle of Shallya

Salyak's Charity is a huge utility boon and keeps the team alive- get a zealot with this and blood orbs and a sister of the thorn. Stack on some damage reduction neither of you will go down unless you are disabled. Completely worthless if the boon holder had full green hp.

Taal's roar has a ton of stagger and knocks back specials and well, anything, in a small area around the player. This keeps disablers off the team, and has an internal cooldown that is lessen based on the percentage of health that is temp hp. The stagger from this is basically a run saver if anything bad happens- getting twice the stagger from this is far more important

So if you get miracle of shallya it's possibly doing more harm than good

S Tier- Blessed By Sigmar

Powerful boons that will provide you with a massive boost to survivability, killing power, or team support.

Spawn a Blood Orb (light green) for every 10 Health (or Temporary Health) damage taken. Each Blood Orb grants 5 Temporary Health. (Victor note: Temp HP gained is modified by any bonus healing.)
--
One of the best boons in the game. Essentially 50% damage reduction (or more, scaling with bonus to healing). Zealot can use this to be immortal, and is good on any character. The more health and damage reduction you have, the more effective it is.
Every 10 seconds your next attack grants you Temporary Health. The amount of Temporary Health gains depends on the damage inflicted.
Heal 40% of damage dealt as temporary HP. Only counts melee/range weapon non-explosion direct damage.
Excellent boon, you can heal with ranged weapons! Crossbows, handguns, and any melee weapon that does a decent amount of single target damage are especially good here
An enemy that dies while Burning inflicts a Burning to nearby enemies, causing damage over time.
Has radius of 5 units. Apply 1 stack of burn to all enemies, last 10 seconds, can stack 5 times. (Victor note: Warrior priest ult applies burn damage, as does moonfire bow, bardin's drake weapons, and sienna. Burn does not to be applied by boon holder)
If no one on the team has a source of burn damage this is literally useless. If a battle wizard with lingering flames is on the team this is just broken. Amazing damage, instantly clears hordes. When someone gets this I almost always crank our twitch difficulty up.
Standing still grants you 60% damage reduction.
Works on Assassin, Hookrat and ledge too. For Lifeleech, when you are travelling through the air it doesn't work, but once you stopped it will provide the damage reduction. (Victor note: always applies when you are downed)
This used to be 30% DR and people considered it too weak. Amazing defensive utility for when you are in a bad situation. Massively increases the effectiveness of other damage reduction talents and more than doubles your effective hp. Grab this, just do it. Unless you're a zealot and you want to take more damage to generate ult.
Taking damage while incapacitated grants you 50% damage reduction for 10 seconds.
Victor Note: works on ledges and getting downed
Amazing utility, and will often trigger with Ptra's Endurance. I've had this boon save me from dying countless times.
Taking damage deals damage to nearby enemies.
Deal fixed damage, no matter the original damage taken. Damage drop off with distance dramatically. (Victor note: knocks off most specials)
Amazing defensive AND offensive utility. If you have enough damage reduction, you can just let bosses hit you and they'll die trying to kill you. Essentially provides special immuity, but you can still be killed while hooked or grabbed by a spawn, unless the damage kills them first.
Using your Career Skill will drop a duplicate of one of your inventory items.
Normal items have cooldown of 60 sec.
Potion of Endless Bombs has cooldown of 120 sec.
Miracle of Morgrim and Miracle of Rhya have cooldown of 180 sec.
Free items, nothing more to add. You'll never be short of healing.
You will always be downed, rather than be killed outright. (You can still bleed out.)
You will never be wounded
Most boons that rely on a failure state (being 'downed') aren't the greatest, but this one is amazing. Saves you from getting whacked if no healing is available
Gain 1% Damage and 1% Attack Speed per active Boon.
Including the talents you picked before entering the expedition and itself. Increases all damage dealt.
Good boon. Need to test to see if it also takes the map completion boons (10% attack speed, etc) into account. Gives between 7-30% bonus attack speed and damage, depending on boons you buy.
Your Career Skill also calls down lighting on nearby enemies.
Has radius of 7 units. Create an explosion and Stagger all types of enemies and deal minor damage. (Victor Note: Counts as an attack for purposes of temp hp generation)
You can go from 0-full hp if you ult in a high enough density of enemies. It's hilarious.
Your Bombs consecrate the ground for 10 seconds on impact. Players within the consecrated ground gain 1000% Career Skill Cooldown rate.
Has radius of 6 units. Removes Friendly Fire of all explosions from the owner.
Easily get various ults up. Combine with valaya's brew and a bomb potion and you essentially have constant uptime for ults and bombs, it's totally broken. Your team will probably be very bored though, especially if you combine that with Morgrim's bomb. It's a combination so busted that I avoid it
Using your Career Skill has a 50% chance of granting you the effect of the potion you are currently carrying.
Doesn't trigger decanter.
Amazing boon, pretty much any potion has a use here. Life share for team heal, lifesteal to keep yourself alive, wrath and prophetic strike for damage. And Endless Bombs pot for overkill
Periodically send out a shockwave that staggers nearby enemies. Cooldown decreases with missing health.
Create an explosion that provides weak stagger within 5 units. Has cooldown ranges of 5 sec to 1.975 sec depends on current Permanent Health percentage. Cooldown = 1.75 * Current Permanent Health% + 1.975
(Victor Note: this stagger is inconsistent against life leeches and skulking sorcerer, I've died to them when the stagger did not knock them down)
I don't view this was 'weak' stagger, IMO that description is off. Staggers everything in a radius, but can be inconsistent knocking off leeches. Amazing crowd control.

Max health increased by 50%.
--
See my Note on Damage Reduction. Let's say your character is trapped and has triggered damage reduction on disable, parry orbs, and standing still gives damage reduction. This gives them 90% damage reduction. A 150hp character has 1500 effective hp, with this boon gives them effectively 2250 hp. Scales well with any character
Taking damage grants you guaranteed critical hits for 3 seconds.
Cannot be triggered by friendly fire. Can be triggered by self-inflicted damage like venting.
Part of the Divine Grant of Immortal Might Boon
Great synergy with Khaine's Fury. Guaranteed crit effect is very strong, pairing well with lightning weapon trait, regrowth, and various careers. It's also easy to trigger.
Damaging enemies with damage over time effects grants 0.25 health.
Grants permanent HP every DoT tick.
Incredibly strong healing talent, assuming you have some source of DoT (Warrior Priest ult, Bardin drake weapons, Elf Moonbow and poison, DoT boons, Sienna, Flense, the weapon trait Huanchi's Fangs, Serrated shot, the handmaid bleed talent). Useless on Kruber unless he has a firebomb or previously mentioned boon. Cannot get with Slayer or Grail Knight
Increase healing received by 50%.
--
Breaks the game for zealot and warrior priest. With comet's gift you heal more than you take in damage. Amazing on any class
You gain 100% Critical Hit Chance, decreased by 25% per Rarity level of your Currently Equipped weapon.
Provides extra 100% / 75% / 50% / 25% / 0% cooldown regen when owning a Plentiful / Common / Rare / Exotic / Unique weapon. Doesn't work with items that has no rarity (Torch, Career Skills).
Permanent crit, and if you upgrade to an orange weapon, it's still a 25% crit bonus to trigger lightning or regrowth. Unlike the Ranald cooldown boon, it only removes a bonus if your current weapon has an upgrade, so you can upgrade one for a power bonus and still use the other for 100% crits
Reduce push cost by 50%
Also reduces Kruber's Spear & Shield / Victor's Bill Hook special attack stamina cost.
More pushes means more push attacks, more crowd control, and a greater ability to stagger enemies and get out of a rough spot
Parrying an attack makes you immune to damage for the next 2 seconds.
--
If you have Hoeth's Sword-Craft or are good at triggering parries, this makes you really hard to kill. Works with gunner bullets
Downed friends near you are invulnerable.
Does not work on ledges.
Amazing boon, allows the team to stay alive if they are downed and someone is in a bad spot. You can actually use your allies as bait- I've had an elf die with the fire aura when downed boon, and just sat behind them as they tried to kill her. The enemy will target downed allies, give you some breathing room and space to get them up.
Increases your Career Skill maximum charge by 1.
Works on Engi too
Great boon, amazing on any class. Two warrior priest revives, burning heads, merc shouts, etc. Great utility boon that I will always grab.
Every 3 seconds, a Perfect Parry spawns an Orb (light blue) that reduces Damage taken by 50% for 10 seconds.
--
It's easy to parry and trigger these. 50% damage reduction is amazing, and this gives it to any party member who steps on an orb. See Note on Damage Reduction.
Gaining temporary health while at full health will give the temporary health to the nearest ally instead.
Vic note: Does NOT work if you are at full green hp. You need to have some temp hp for this to be useful.
This is just absurd if you get it on Sister. Great way to keep another teammate alive. Worthless if you have a DoT build and atharti's malice.
Falling below 10% health grants you 15% attack speed and movement speed and prevents incoming damage for 10 seconds.
Can prevent leathal damage in the same way as Natural Bond. Increase attack speed by 15%, movement speed by 20%. Has a cooldown of 30 sec.
Great boon, will keep you alive. Sometimes bugs out and it triggers but you go down, but works most of the time
Using your Career Skill returns 10% of nearby allies' Ability Bars.
--
Great team utility. Used to be bugged and retrun 10% per player for each human player in the run, but that's been fixed. Good buff, you should probably grab this.
Your Bombs consecrate the ground for 10 seconds on impact. Players within the consecrated ground gain 100% Critical Strike Chance.
Victor Note: Wiki info is incorrect and has info for Grugni's bombardment. I'm assuming this bomb has the same 6 unit radius for the aura, which gives 100% crit chance. This should supersede talents like Smite or Helborg's Tutelage
Guaranteed crit here is both an excellent DPS boost and a trigger for various powerful talents and effects. Good boon
After killing an elite with a melee attack the next enemy you kill will explode.
Victor Note: Explosion triggers with bombs and effects such as shard strike or smite
This boon is a key part of the Warrior Priest Death Field. It can literally kill dozens of elites at once under the right conditions. Great boon and an insane DPS boost. Just get this, it's amazing.

A Tier- Strong Choice

Image and Name
Description
Notes
Thoughts
5% Damage Reduction for every 20 Health lost. Stacks up to 5 times.
Victor note: Temp hp doesn't remove stacks
Provides great defense the more wounded you are, zealot, sister and warrior priest love this. S tier if you have other damage reduction boons already.
Killing a Special replenishes 10% of your ability bar.
Any member in the team killing the special will trigger this boon.
--
Great way to gain ult, effectiveness is obviously dependent on amount of specials seen.
You gain 100% Cooldown rate, decreased by 25% per Rarity level of your Highest Rarity weapon.
Doesn't work with items that has no rarity (Torch, Career Skills).
This is a must-grab for my warrior priest. Great boon if you get it early on, useless if you get it when you have a red weapon
Gain 2 Health each second if below 30% Health
Temp hp counts towards health percentage
Ensures you'll never be stuck at 1hp, only to die to a stiff breeze. Depending on class base health, you'll have 30-46hp with no bonuses. Enough to get you out of tricky situations where you are taking chip damage, but still need to watch out for that slave rat backstab
Each Attack that doesn't causes a Critical Hit adds 5% Critical Chance to the next Attack. These bonuses stack, and reset after making a Critical Hit.
--
Great boon, provides a nice boost to crit chance
Your Bombs consecrate the ground for 10 seconds on impact. Players within the consecrated ground gain 50% Attack Speed.
Has radius of 6 units. Removes Friendly Fire of all explosions from the owner.
Great for burst damage vs boss, chest, or patrol
Your Career Skill also Burns nearby enemies for damage over time.
Has radius of 7 units. Apply 1 stack of burn to all enemies, last 10 seconds, can stack 5 times.
Great boon, provides strong DPS over the course of a run, and can potentially knock off or kill disablers. Rated higher than the other two similar boons as it can trigger Wildfire
Blocking enemy attacks reduces Career Skill Cooldown.
Reduce cooldown by 2 second every time. Has no internal cooldown.
Reduces CDR by a set amount not percentage, better with lower cooldown careers. Great boon, if you have a shield let a gunner hit it and you get an instant ult refresh
Every 45 seconds, if you are disabled a bolt of lightning knocks the disabler back.
Only triggers on Lifeleech / Packmaster / Gutter Runner. The lightning spawns on the disabler and stagger all enemies within 5 units. Does not deal damage.
Great for a save, but limited to a 45sec cooldown. Taal's Roar and Drakira's Malice have a similar effect with no cooldown, so this is in A tier. Good choice.
Enemies close to you take 15% damage from teammates.
Enemies within 5 units from you take 15% more damage from other players.
Great team damage buff, get it.
You gain 20% Damage against enemies near to allies.
Gain bonus damage against enemies within 7 units of players that are not you.
Great personal damage buff
Killing 10 enemies with melee attacks in quick succession grants 20 % attack speed and movement speed for 10 seconds.
Increase both attack speed and movement speed by 20%. Quick succession = 10 sec.
Great buff, when it can trigger. Worth getting
After using your Career Skill your next 3 Melee Attacks launch a shockwave that damages and staggers enemies.
Has a max stack of 3. Stagger all enemies in 5 units range near you when you land a melee hit. Doesn't do damage. Only triggers on melee slot weapon. (Victor Note: triggers twice on battle wiz with burnout)
Great crowd control boon, good for boss ledging and staggering large clumps of enemies. However, it can stagger enemies behind you and your teammates, so be careful for a knocked down slave rat shanking Kruber's thicc booty.
Gain 10% Attack Speed.
--
Attack speed is great, get it. Sigmar wants you to slap rats faster. Good DPS increase.

A Tier- Pt 2

Good boons that you can't go wrong picking, or strong ones with a downside
Image and Name
Description
Notes
Thoughts
Critical Hits spawn 6 projectiles that seek out enemies.
Triggered by landing melee or range critical hit. Send out projectiles if there are enemies within 15 units.
Part of the Grand Boon of Anath Raema's
Great damage increase, there are so many crit sources in chaos wastes, you can easily have 100% uptime (or close to it) on this.
Removes the limit on dodging efficiently.
--
Usefulness depends on weapon. Some weapons already have unlimited dodge, in which case this boon is useless, which is why this isn't a category up- I know some people will wonder why this isn't top tier. This is amazing on a shield weapon or heavier weapon with low dodge count
Gain up to 20 % Attack Speed based on your missing Ability Bar.
Bonus attack speed = missing ability bar% x 20%
Great boon, better on high cooldown time careers. Grab this, but it's less effective the more CDR you have.
Spawns a static charge Orb (blue) every 10 kills. The Orb Damages and Staggers nearby enemies for 5 seconds.
Orb gives you metalstorm aura.
Great boon, staggers and damages enemies. Always a good pick
Each time a nearby ally uses their Career Skill you replenish 10% of your Ability Bar.
--
Great source of CDR, better with low cooldown teammates
While above 50% health, you gain 25% more melee power but deal 3 damage to yourself every swing.
Victor Note: doesn't trigger unchained overheat, as of last patch
Yes, this is a great boon. It can be used to trigger many on damage taken effects, mainly Caxuatn's Frenzy. The crits then trigger various on crit effects, such as projectiles, regrowth, lightning, etc.

The downsides to this boon can be mitigated in various ways- there are many ways of increasing healing and damage reduction in an expedition. However, it can be hard for some classes to maintain hp with this boon, so if you aren't confident playing at half hp for a bit I'd skip this.

The bonus this one provides outweighs the negatives.
Combine with Khaine's Might for a real glass cannon build.
Staggering 5 enemies at once grants 20% Power for 5 seconds.
Increases Power Level. Can be any types of Stagger, including items and Career Skills.
This is actually bugged and will trigger with many ranged attacks vs elites or specials. Even without that bug, it's easy to trigger in a horde, and it should work with pushes (have not tested since last patch). Low cost boon, easy to trigger, good buff.
Every 8 seconds, Parrying an Attack triggers a lightning strike against the attacking enemy.
Create an extremely small explosion near the parried enemy. Stagger all types of enemies and deal minor damage.
If you have a shield this can stagger ratling gunners from a distance. Good for boss stagger and ledge- be careful if you want coins.
Pushing an enemy makes you do a short charge forward.
Cannot be taken from random boon
I have completely changed my mind on this, it's actually amazing. It's not S-tier because many weapons rely on push attacks in their weapon combos, and you can easily find yourself out of position and surrounded or ledge yourself. But if you are aware of that there is so much utility that you can get out of it

Here's one good example

Pushing Enemies Makes You Charge Forward boon is actually really good

B Tier- Decent Boons

Decent boons that will give you a good buff to survivability, damage, or team support. Also for great boons with a significant downside.

Image and Name
Description
Notes
Thoughts
Landing 3 Melee headshots in a row grants 15% increased Melee Power for 10 seconds.
--
Decent damage bonus, effectiveness depends on your headshot rate. Easier with some weapons
On drinking a Potion spawn an Orb (light red) that grants the same effect.
Victor Note: doesn't work with decanter
Extra potions, great! Effectiveness depends on what potions and drunk. If you're wondering why this isn't rated higher- a player can stumble over an endless bombs orb or a wrath one, and be killed by the slowdown if they're kiting something, or a stealth and have aggro switch to a visible player, killing that player. Great if you have a coordinated team, but has downsides
Every 30 seconds, taking damage grants invisibility for 5s. Attacking removes the invisibility.
Grants invisibility and phase walk. Can free you from disabler. Invisbility does not trigger on venting and non hostile damage over time.
This is strong, but it can be triggered by any enemy- enemy aggro can be switched to a teammate and knock them down. It can save you from specials, but it's weaker than Sigmar's Intervention as it's useless if it's on cooldown.
Headshots spawn 4 projectiles that seek out enemies.
Triggered by landing melee or range headshot. Send out projectiles if there are enemies within 15 units.
Part of the Grand Boon of Anath Raema's
Usefulness scales with headshot rate
Parries spawn 4 projectiles that seek out enemies.
Triggered by timed block. Send out projectiles if there are enemies within 15 units.
Part of the Grand Boon of Anath Raema's
Warrior Priest (or any player with a shield) can kill gunners with this just by blocking, it's hilarious. Good boon, S tier with Hoeth's Sword-Craft
Every 3 seconds, when you inflict a headshot on an enemy, spawn an Essence Orb (light purple) at their location. The Essence Orb grants increased Cooldown Regeneration for 0.5 seconds.
Orb provides 450% cooldown regen for 0.5 second(2.25 second of cooldown).
Decent way of generating CDR, higher value on classes such as Handmaiden or Foot Knight
Your Career Skill also inflicts Poison on nearby enemies for damage over time.
Has radius of 7 units. Apply 1 stack of poison to all enemies, last 10 seconds, can stack 5 times.
Significant DPS increase given a high density of enemies. Can be used to damage or help kill disablers and trigger poison related talents.
Your Career Skill also inflicts Bleed on nearby enemies.
Has radius of 7 units. Apply 1 stack of bleed to all enemies, last 10 seconds, can stack 5 times.
Significant DPS increase given a high density of enemies. Can be used to damage or help kill disablers.
Regenerate 1 health every 3 seconds.
--
Natural bond that doesn't suck. Good pick
Attacks against full health enemies deal 20% more damage.
--
Useless if the enemy is already damaged, great for some breakpoints if they aren't, especially at range.
Throwing a bomb throws one additional bomb (of the same type).
Works with Morgs
Strong boon, good DPS increase. Be careful you don't kill teammates.
Your grenades explode a second time (after a short delay).
Works with Morgs
Strong boon, good DPS increase. Be careful you don't kill teammates, the delayed explosion can be a surprise
Your Bombs consecrate the ground for 10 seconds on impact. Players within the consecrated ground gain 35% Power
Has radius of 6 units. Increases Power Level by 35%. (Victor Note: no bomb friendly fire)
Great buff, but I view attack speed, crit chance, and CDR bombs as more impactful.
Your Bombs consecrate the ground for 10 seconds on impact. Players within the consecrated ground gain 2% healing per second.
Has radius of 6 units. Heals 2 THP/second.
Great buff, but I view attack speed, crit chance, and CDR bombs as more impactful.
Your Career Skill also spawns 6 projectiles that seek out enemies.
Triggered by using Career Skill. Send out projectiles if there are enemies within 15 units.
Part of the Grand Boon of Anath Raema's
The other projectile boons are more impactful, but getting this will increase your chance of getting the other boons in the set.
Increase headshot damage by 50%. Lower non-headshot damage by 10%
Cannot be obtained from Seer's Altar (Boon Altar). Increase headshot damage multiplier.
Amazing DPS buff with high headshot rate, DPS decrease with low headshot rate. High skill ceiling boon
Gain 2 stamina shields.
--
More stamina is a good choice for any career.
Enemies hit with your Ranged Weapon take +15% damage from you for 5 seconds.
Triggered by hitting the enemy with any range attack. Increases all damage dealt by 15%.
Good damage boost, a nice bonus vs bosses or to make enemies die a shot quicker.

B Tier Part 2

Good boons that you can't go wrong picking, or strong ones with a downside
Image and Name
Description
Notes
Thoughts
Gain 5% Melee Power for each nearby ally.
Counts yourself. Has a range of 10 units.
Nice melee power bonus. More impactful than Ulric's Pack, as it's rare that 3 or more players will get that boon.
Gain 5% bonus to Power. This is multiplied by the number of allies with the Boon.
Increases Power Level, counts yourself. Has a range of 20 units.
An excellent power buff especially if fully capitalized on. But realistically, you're not going to have 4 people roll it most times, which leaves you with a modest buff.
Your attacks cannot be interrupted.
Can still be pushed by elites.
Decent bonus, some classes have this as an inherent feature.
Pushing increases Cleave by 50% for 3 sec.
Cleave, for reference[vermintide2.fandom.com]
A good buff, but power increases are usually better. Utility depends on current weapon and what attack you are using, which is why I'm giving this a mid-tier rank. It's either a really good buff or pretty useless.

C Tier- Average

Average choice that may have a downside. You probably have better options.
Image and Name
Description
Notes
Thoughts
Enemies close to you take 100% Stagger from teammates.
Enemies within 5 units from you take 100% more Stagger from other players.
Due to how stagger works, this is either amazing and will allow you to stagger enemies, or is entirely useless. Effective if the team is close.
You gain 100% Stagger against enemies near to allies.
Gain bonus Stagger against enemies within 7 units of players that are not you.
Slightly better than the prior one, as it requires any teammate be near you so you are more likely to benefit, and there is a larger range. Same caveat applies
Bombs have 50% reduced range, but have +50% explosion radius and Damage.
Reduce bomb throw range, but increases explosion radius and damage.
Amazing if you have any of the bomb radius talents that disable friendly fire. You'll probably kill your team without those, which is why this isn't higher.
Using your Career Skill grants 40% movement speed for 5 seconds.
--
Nice little buff, amazing for getting away or closing in to specials with a melee career. Hilarious with a zealot using Crusade. Zoom Zoom.
Picking up ammunition grants 15 health.
Ax/Jav pickup doesn't trigger, ammo crate does. (Vic Note: I don't believe this clears a wound, last time I checked it did not)
S tier with a ranger vet in the party or if you have the Slaanesh curse that drops ammo. Otherwise, it's a nice healing boost

D Tier- Situationally useful

Weaker boons that are situationally useful.
Image and Name
Description
Notes
Thoughts
Range attacks inflicts +100% Damage, but use +100% ammo or Overcharge.
Affects all ranged attacks/weapons, including Crankgun and Moonfire Bow. (Victor note: negates the free ammo buff from chaos wastes, you still consume ammo)
It's generally bust to avoid this unless you have very high ammo sustain or are running a lingering flames build, in which case it's strong
Reviving a teammate grants both of you health regeneration for 15 seconds.
Can be triggered with Mercenary's On Yer Feet, Mates! / Warrior Priest's The Comet's Gift. Heal both players 2 THP/sec.
Slightly better handmaiden revive. Nice to have on her or warrior priest, and gives a small buff. But ideally you shouldn't be going down often. Low use case utility
When your Block is broken you gain 15% Attack Speed for 15s.
--
Good if you're tanking a boss in a corner and have a shield, or are in a rough spot.
Gain 25% Power, but 50% Curse.
Cannot be obtained from Seer's Altar (Boon Altar).
S tier on warrior priest. Generally the downsides of this outweigh the benefits on tankier careers, as it removes the ability to tank an overhead unless you have some absurd damage reduction going on. I usually don't recommend it, as whenever I see people use it they tend to struggle. If you're good at avoiding damage and are playing a glass cannon career, you can double down on it, just be prepared to die to a stiff breeze.
You revive with full Health. 120 second Cooldown.
--
You need to heal again anyways, I don't see the point. Maybe if you have a medkit handy. Good with Djaf's rejection.
Every block counts as a parry.
Victor note: Useless on it's own without any talent, class ability, or boon related to parrying
Very powerful when combined with anything that triggers on parry, like parry projectiles or damage reduction orbs.
Increases Ability Bar cooldown rate by 10%.
--
There are other boons that have 10x to 100x the effect of this. More CDR is nice
Auto-pickup Pilgrim's Coins in a 10m radius.
1 sec cooldown
Allows you to cliff bosses and still get paid
When you kill enemies marked as Taal's quarry, you gain +30% Power for 10s
The marked enemy will have a yellow flame on top for indication, that is visible only to you. All enemies except Monsters and Specials can be marked. Automatically mark enemies in 10 units range if there is no other marked enemy. Mark has a cooldown of 20 seconds.
Looks strong on paper, but your allies can't see what enemy is marked, and they will often kill it first. If you can reliably kill marked enemies before your team does, it's a good boon.
When hanging from a ledge, automatically recover.
You cannot defend yourself while recovering from the ledge
As you will often end up killed while climbing back up, this has less utility than you may think. Good insurance if you are ledged by a boss or storm, however
Each 5 seconds not getting hit increases your Career Skill regeneration by 5%. Max stacks 5.
Stacks can be removed by self-inflicted damage like venting.
other boons are more impactful, and you can lose more stacks while venting. All stacks are lost on hit, not just one.
You gain a stack of Justice each time you Block an Attack. Once you have 3 stacks, your next Attack is automatically a Critical Hit and all stacks are lost.
Even if your attack missed, it will still consume the guaranteed crit. Push does not consume the guaranteed crit. Part of the Divine Grant of Immortal Might Boon
There are other, more impactful, ways to gain a guaranteed crit in Chaos Wastes. Get it to improve your chances of getting another boon in the set
For 2 seconds after leaving invisibility, all Attacks are automatically Critical Hits.
Victor Note: this actually works with battle wizard ult, it's technically a stealth. The more you know, I guess.
Decent on classes with an invisibility ult or if you have Ladrielle's Veil boon/a stealth pot. Or even better, Valaya's Brew and a stealth pot. Otherwise it's literally useless.
A halo of fire damages enemies around as long as you are downed.
Spawn fire bomb ground fire 4 units near you. Does not stagger.
Generally, this kind of sucks and I recommend avoiding it. It's useless most of the time, and if you're surrounded by enemies with more health than a clan rat it won't help you that much with staying alive. If someone on your team has Morr's Protection, though, it can be pretty funny, which is why this isn't in bottom tier.

F tier- Don't bother

Thoughts
Healing an ally with a health pack grants both of you 20% Power for 40 seconds.

Why is this even here, let alone a veteran boon sold for 300 coins? A slight boost for a team member healing someone who was downed, or that is low hp if you have an extra medkit laying around. You could maybe get some utility out of this IF the character who has it has a high chance to not use items, or someone has barter, but the bonus only lasts 40 seconds and you waste a medkit. Make it a non-stacking buff or something similar that lasts longer (or even to the end of the map) and then we're talking.
When a Chest of Trials is activated, creates consecrated ground that grants you 500% Cooldown rate for 30 seconds.
Has radius of 10 units. The consecrated ground lasts 30 seconds, or until the Chest of Trials is finished.
Small radius, short duration, and you need to be near the chest, which is generally the last spot you want to be (a few exceptions apply). It's not useless, but it's so situational and of such a short duration that it has little value.
When a Chest of Trials is activated, creates consecrated ground that grants you 35% Damage for 30 seconds.
Has radius of 10 units. The consecrated ground lasts 30 seconds, or until the Chest of Trials is finished. Increases all damage dealt by 35%.
Same logic applies here. Highly situational and can put team in a bad position if they try to take advantage of the buff
When you trigger a barrel explosion, the barrel spawns smaller barrels. These explode after a short time.
Spawn 4 mini barrels, they have the same damage and explosion radius as normal barrels. (Victor note: boons that disable bomb friendly fire also prevent barrel FF)
Hilarious way of trolling your team, and that's about it. There aren't enough barrels for this to be effective vs enemies, unless you are in the Mine or Gorge events
Powder Barrels you ignite deal 300% increased damage.
Victor note: bomb FF boons disable bareel friendly fire
Same reason as the previous talent. even worse, this is 250 Sigmarbucks. I've used both barrel boons to absolutely nuke some bosses that spawn in the barrel events, but it's such a niche use case. Give us a third boon that spawns barrels or something and this might be useful
When you are above 75 % Health you take of the damage inflicted on nearby allies instead of them.
Share 50% of the damage taken. Shared damage ignores 75 % Health threshold and can be lethal.
The one benefit to this boon is that you will get more CDR from taking hits, but even on warrior priest or zealot I don't want this. This can potentially kill a squishy character. It's ok on a tank, I guess.
Gain 100 % Power and rapid health regeneration for 10 seconds when all your allies are downed.
Heals 5 HP every 0.5 sec.
I've had this help me out a few times and it's been useful. But that is very rare. This boon has a short duration and is unlikely to trigger in most runs. Low use case utility that you will rarely see used.
